Frequently asked questions
Which date determines my age group?
Your age on 15 January 2027 determines your division for all three programmes.
Should I submit one video or two?
Submit one video for one work. If your programme permits two works, you may combine them in one video or submit two separate videos. Each work must be recorded continuously without edits within the performance. Follow your programme’s repertoire and total time limits.
When and how must the performance be recorded?
The recording must have been filmed within the six months preceding your video submission date. The performer’s face and hands must be clearly visible throughout, with clearly audible sound.
Is recorded accompaniment allowed?
For instruments other than piano solo, and for concertos, either a live accompanist or prerecorded accompaniment is allowed when accompaniment is required. Works originally written to be unaccompanied should be performed without accompaniment. Piano solo must be performed without added accompaniment.
Who may enter the Amateur division?
Applicants aged 18 or above may enter if they do not work in a music-related occupation. Music students may apply if they do not work in music. Music teachers are not eligible for the Amateur division.
Are application fees refundable?
Application fees are non-refundable.
How do I send my video links?
Email unlisted YouTube link(s) to info@knovart.com. Both the application and video deadline are 15 January 2027, 11:59 p.m. Hong Kong Time (UTC+8). Results will be announced on 23 January 2027.
Are recital and concert costs included?
No. Additional performance and related participation costs are TBC and depend on the event and circumstances. Details will be confirmed separately before participation.
