K Novart Concerto Competition 2027

The Concerto Competition identifies musicians for live performance opportunities with the K Novart Orchestra in Europe. Applicants submit one concerto movement for a single online round.

Application Requirements

• Completed online application form
• High-resolution profile photograph
• PDF score of the selected concerto for jury reference
• Proof of date of birth, such as a passport copy or official identification
• Unlisted YouTube video link sent to info@knovart.com by the deadline

Competition Format and Repertoire

• Perform one complete movement from a concerto. A single-movement concerto is permitted.
• The performance must be memorized and recorded in one continuous, unedited take.
• The orchestral part may be performed by a pianist or provided through a recorded orchestral accompaniment. A video recorded with a live orchestra is also accepted.
• The soloist must remain clearly visible and audible throughout the performance.

Awards and Winners’ Concert

• First, Second, and Third Prizes may be awarded in each division.
• A Grand Prize recipient may be selected in an eligible division from among the highest-scoring participants, subject to the shared limit of six Cash Grand Prizes across the Concerto and Solo Competitions.
• First, Second, and Third Prize winners will be eligible to perform one concerto movement with the K Novart Orchestra in Europe.
• Grand Prize recipients will be eligible to perform the complete concerto with the K Novart Orchestra in Europe.
• Special awards may include Outstanding Interpretation, Technical Excellence, Promising Young Artist, and other distinctions at the jury’s discretion.

Performance conditions: final repertoire, movement selection, orchestra programming, scheduling, and participation terms are subject to approval by K Novart. Travel, accommodation, and related expenses are not included unless confirmed separately in writing.

Cash Grand Prizes

Up to six Cash Grand Prizes may be awarded across the K Novart Concerto Competition and K Novart Solo Competition. Each prize is USD 200, with a maximum total cash prize pool of USD 1,200.

• Cash Grand Prizes are awarded only when the jury determines that the required artistic standard has been met. The jury may award fewer than six or withhold all Cash Grand Prizes.
• No more than one Cash Grand Prize may be awarded within any eligible division. The overall limit of six applies across both competitions.
• If a prize is shared because of a tie, its USD 200 amount will be divided among the recipients and will not be increased.
• First, Second, and Third Prizes and special awards do not include a cash payment unless K Novart confirms otherwise in writing.

Additional Rules

• Cadenzas must be by the original composer or a recognized composer or renowned performer. Self-composed cadenzas are not permitted.
• K Novart may use submitted videos and live performance recordings for archival and promotional purposes.
• The jury may withhold any prize if the required artistic standard is not met.
• Jury decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
